A referral is required

We are not able to book an appointment directly with a patient. Ask your family physician, nurse practitioner or another specialist to fax a referral to us. Once it has been reviewed by one of our dermatologists we will call you to book. Please make sure your doctor's office has your current telephone number. If you do not have a family doctor, a walk in clinic can refer you.

There is no charge for assessment or treatment covered by OHIP. Bring your valid Ontario health card to every visit.

Frequently asked questions

How long will I wait for an appointment?
Every referral is reviewed by a dermatologist and given a priority. Suspected skin cancers and rapidly changing moles are seen ahead of routine cases. If your condition changes while you are waiting, ask your doctor to call us so the referral can be looked at again.
Can I choose which dermatologist I see?
Appointments are booked to the first suitable opening with one of our dermatologists. If there is a medical reason to see a particular physician, your referring doctor can note it on the referral.
Do you treat children?
DermCare does not run a paediatric dermatology service. A child with a skin condition should be referred to a centre that offers paediatric dermatology.
Do you offer cosmetic treatments?
No. DermCare is a medical dermatology clinic. Cosmetic concerns without a medical indication are not covered by OHIP and are not seen under a referral.
I am interested in a clinical study. Do I need a referral?
No. Patients enquiring about a study may contact the research team directly at research@dermcare.ca or by calling 905 625 5600. See current studies.
